Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers based in Muskogee are a step closer to getting a new "work" home.

Troop-C took over the old Army Reserve Center on Wednesday.

The troop's new home will require a few renovations before it can move in, but OHP said the center will better suit the community's needs, and theirs, too.

"The building we currently have is very small, it's been very crowed, very long lines.... a lot of not a lot of place for people to get," Chief Kerry Pettingill said. "This will accommodate many more people."

The new building will also accommodate on-site training for troopers, and will allow OHP to share more resources will other local law enforcement agencies.
