USAO Cross Country Lands Two Scholar-Athletes

Two Drover men's cross country runners were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. It's USAO's first year to compete in the sport.

Matthew Crow and Aaron Manuel earned the honor, which was awarded to 203 men across the country.

A runner must be a junior or senior in academic standing and much maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to become a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

Crow, a biology senior from Collierville, Tenn., has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. In addition to his biology courses, he also minors in French and chemistry.

Crow's fastest 8-kilometer time this season was 31.27, which he did in a race at Oklahoma Baptist in early October. He regularly finished among the first three on his team.

He is the son of Terry and Carrie Crow.

Sapulpa native Manuel is a junior double major in math and physics. He has maintained a 3.5 GPA.

Manuel had his personal record 8-kilometer time also in early October at Oklahoma Baptist. He finished the race in 33:55.

He's the son of Steve and Kerri Manuel.
