OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City Police say a 13-month old child drowned after the babysitter briefly left the boy in a bathtub while she went to prepare a bottle.

Henry McBride died Monday afternoon at a home in the 800 block of N.W. 39th Street. According to a police report, Henry was left in the bathtub with an older sibling while the 54-year-old babysitter went downstairs.

When she returned a few minutes later, she discovered the child had slipped under the water. The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say right now, the drowning appears to be an accident.
