FORT MEADE, Maryland -

Closing arguments are expected this week in the pretrial hearing for Army PFC Bradley Manning. The soldier from Crescent, Oklahoma is charged with leaking hundreds of thousands of classified documents to the web site Wikileaks.

Friday was the ninth day of these court proceedings at Fort Meade, Maryland.  Attorneys are expected to present closing arguments on Wednesday.

Manning is seeking dismissal of all charges due to what he claims were excessively harsh conditions during his nine months in the brig. Brig commanders say they kept Manning confined 23 hours a day, sometimes without clothing, to keep him from hurting or killing himself.

Manning is charged with 22 counts, including aiding the enemy. He could face life in prison if convicted.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
