Devon Energy confirmed on Monday that co-founder Larry Nichols will retire. Devon Energy confirmed on Monday that co-founder Larry Nichols will retire.
OKLAHOMA CITY -

Devon Energy confirmed on Monday that co-founder Larry Nichols will retire.

Nichols started the company with his father more than 40 years ago. 70-year old Nichols will retire as an employee effective December 31.

Nichols says he will stay on the company's board as an Executive Chairman.

Nichols informed the board of his retirement last week.
