TULSA, Oklahoma -

After more than three decades on the podium, the artistic director and conductor of the Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College is retiring.

Dr. G. Barry Epperly founded the ensemble in 1978 and said he didn't want to step down until there was a long-term plan for its future.

Epperly will stay on until July 31.

A search committee will be formed to find a successor.
