Former State Lawmaker Announces Candidacy For Tulsa County Commission Seat

A former state representative and Tulsa businessman has announced he intends to run for the Tulsa County Commission seat being vacated by retiring Commissioner Fred Perry.

Ron Peters, a Republican, stated in a new release he believes in strong and decisive leadership which is "essential in maintaining the history and tradition that defines a lifestyle Tulsa County residents expect."

"As a lifelong Tulsan, I want to make sure our City and County move in a positive direction. Likewise, the growth that the suburban communities have experienced helps the entire county. It is important for the County to partner with Bixby, Jenks, Broken Arrow and Glenpool to support their infrastructure needs to ensure that this growth continues. Our successes depend on working together for the benefit of all," Ron Peters said.

Ron Peters represented State House District 70 in the Oklahoma House until last year.

Prior to that, Peters states in his news release, he worked for Cities Service and Occidental Oil and Gas. He has been the President of RelationsInc., a public relations firm, since starting that company in 1997.

A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Peters holds degrees in business and management.
