A woman was busted at Tulsa International Airport after police say she packed 7 pounds of meth in her suitcase.

Investigators said the drugs found in Tania Elizalde's suitcase could sell for about $105,000 on the street.

When the 23-year-old Arizona resident stepped off a plane in Tulsa, law enforcement officers were waiting for her.

Ofc. Leland Ashley, Tulsa Police: "We had received information from the DEA office out of San Diego that this individual had left their city and was possibly in possession of methamphetamine," TPD Officer Leland Ashley said.

According to police reports, Elizalde managed to sneak meth pass the security check point in San Diego.

But she didn't get past security in Tulsa.

"Our K9 dog alerted to the bag as possibly having narcotics in it," Ashley said. "They asked her permission to look inside her luggage. She gave permission freely, and once inside, [we] discovered 7 pounds of methamphetamine."

Police said the meth was hidden inside the lining of the suitcase.

Officers said she never said why she had so much meth, but they suspect they know.

"That amount of meth, that's way much more for your user," Ashley said. "Your user maybe has a gram or less. Seven pounds, ultimately, probably was going to be resold."

If reselling was her intention, police say they're thankful for the DEA's tip.

"We have our own problem with it without having someone bring it into the city, and it's great when we can get this amount of drugs off the street," Ashley said.

It's unclear how the woman was able to get pass airport security in San Diego, and that's still under investigation.

Tulsa's Transportation Safety Administration agents said they X-ray every bag before they make it to a plane.

On Wednesday evening, Elizalde was still in the Tulsa County jail on one complaint of aggravated trafficking.

She's being held in lieu of $25,000 bond.
