Tulsa Man Sentenced To 2 Consecutive Life Terms For Child Molestation

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A man who prosecutors say molested a number of boys over the last three decades was sentenced to life in prison Monday.

When Michael Bauhaus pleaded guilty to molestation in February, the judge told him he would be sentenced to life in prison, either with parole or without parole.

Monday, the judge decided his fate: two consecutive life terms without parole, one for each count.

Prosecutors said Bauhaus preyed on vulnerable boys between the ages of 9 and 14 years old, often picking boys with disabilities or boys coming from broken homes. Prosecutors say Michael Bauhaus volunteered at churches and youth organizations in order to gain access to young boys.

They said his most recent victim was a 15-year-old boy with Asperger's syndrome. On his most recent victim, Bauhaus used painful pressure points on the boy's back to get him to comply, then later texted the boy an apology, according to prosecutors.

Records show, in 1984, Bauhaus was sentenced to three years in prison and six years of probation for several counts of forcible sodomy.

Just when that sentence was ending, he was caught again, and, in 1994, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for molestation. He got out after serving a little more than four years.
