Firefighters Battle Fire On Board Train Near Catoosa

Firefighters were able to put out an electrical fire on board a train between Catoosa and Verdigris just before 7 a.m. Thursday.

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe locomotive sustained some damage.

“We were able to isolate all the electrical and get the fire out, get some water on it to cool it off,” Mike Shaeffer of the Verdigris Fire Department said.

No injuries were reported.
