A Clearview woman is dead after her car was swept into Alabama Creek in Okfuskee County early Saturday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Doreina Akins, 69, drowned inside her vehicle after driving into high rushing waters 5 miles south of Clearview about 7:30 a.m.

A 14-year-old passenger was able to exit through the vehicle's sunroof, OHP said.

Akins' body was recovered inside the vehicle just before 2 p.m., approximately three-fourths of a mile from where she departed the roadway.

Akins was one of two people who died in rising floodwaters in the past day. The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office identified a man who died when his vehicle ran into high water in Harrah.

Along with the nine people who died in Friday's tornadoes, the flooding fatalities bring the death toll of the second wave of Oklahoma storms to 11.
