OKLAHOMA CITY -

The search continues Tuesday for a man who jumped into the Deep Fork River Monday afternoon.

The 28-year-old man had reportedly been drinking when he went into the water and never resurfaced.

Engineers have shut off water going into that stretch of the river to help with the search. It's in the area of N.E. 178th Street and Peebly Road. That part of the river is fed by Arcadia Lake. The water was said to be flowing very quickly at the time.

With all the recent drownings, emergency crews urge people to be careful when out on the water. Water is flowing a lot faster now because of the recent storms, making it more dangerous.

Oklahoma City Fire says if you are the water, you should always have someone with you and wear a life jacket.

They also advise if you are not a strong swimmer to stay out of the water until it recedes.
