MOORE, Oklahoma -

A local business is making a big effort to give back to the May 20 tornado victims by donating a portion of their proceeds to the Red Cross.

The owner of Twister Distillery, raised in Moore himself, said that it was the best way to raise a lot of money quickly and get it to those families who need the funds.

"I was there five minutes after it happened and people were jumping out of their cars and just rushing to help," recalled Garrett Janko, owner of Twister Distillery. "You just really want to help right now so it just it's when you go down there and look around it just kind of changes you a little bit."

Some of Janko's fellow small business owners have been struggling to stay open. Some of them lost their homes. Some of them lost their stores. Some of them lost both.

"You worry all the time, you know, are customers coming in? Putting food on the table, paying the bills. That's the only things you worry about," said Janko. "I can't possibly fathom what it would be like to have your entire business wiped out and your heart just kind of aches."

In an effort to give back to the community that has helped him launch several businesses, Janko has begun to spread the message to shop locally.

"Moore has treated us unbelievably anyway. But after the recent events and we all go together and we really wanted to do something and time is of the essence so we waited until the third product was out, which is July and for the next three months we'll donate 10%."

Twisted Distillery is expecting to release a total of six products by the end of the year. Their plan has always been to give a portion of proceeds to disaster relief. Once they get all of the items on the market, they plan to donate 5% of the proceeds.
