Shock Lose Second Straight Road Game, Fall To Fever

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Shock's road struggles continued Friday night as the Shock lost their second straight game of a four-game road trip, falling to the Indiana Fever, 80-69.

It was just the second win of the season for the defending WNBA champions, who snapped a seven-game losing streak after opening the season with a victory.

Friday's game was a homecoming of sorts for Shock point guard Skylar Diggins, who spent her whole life in South Bend, Ind. before joining the Shock this season. Diggins received a loud ovation upon being introduced before the game, but that was the only highlight of her return to her home state.

Diggins shot just 1-for-6 from the field, her only basket a meaningless floater with 34.7 seconds remaining in the game.

Tamika Catchings led the Fever with a season-high 28 points and six steals. Karima Christmas had 12 points and Shavonte Zellous added 10 points.

Nicole Powell led Tulsa with 21 points, 19 of those in the first half. Riquna Williams had 16 points and Glory Johnson had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, struggling with foul trouble much of the night.

The Shock was done in by a poor shooting night and 17 turnovers. Tulsa shot just 38.5 percent compared to 45.5 percent for Indiana.
