LITTLE AXE, Oklahoma -

Some residents in Little Axe say OG&E trucks tore up one of their main roads, and they want to see it fixed.

They say while they appreciate the fact OG&E crews came in so quickly to restore power after the May 19 tornado, those heavy trucks also compromised Barker Road, which is a private gravel road, that now looks like an uneven dirt road.

Jerry Rivest says Barker Rd. is so bad, an ambulance couldn't get to his home to help his wife earlier in the week.

"We're not asking for much, just a little gravel to put back on the road," he said.

OG&E Spokesman Brian Alford says the road will be fixed by next week.

"It's just taken us a while to get all the construction done, we didn't want to do any repairs to the road, because we knew trucks were going to be back in that area," he said.

Alford also said OG&E appreciates people's patience over the past several weeks.
