Convicted child molester Phillip Borden was sentenced Monday, after a jury found him guilty last month of molesting the daughter of a close friend.

The girl said the abuse started when she was 7 years old and continued until she was 10.

Borden's attorney asked the judge to send him to prison only long enough to get treatment, and then give him probation. But the judge said it was clear the jury did not intend for Borden to ever see the light of day. So, he gave Borden what the jury wanted, three life sentences, plus 25 years, all to be run back-to-back.

Borden says he is innocent of molesting a friend's daughter, despite the graphic and detailed testimony she gave at trial, saying he gave her funny tasting drinks, showed her pornography and touched her privates. The girl said he took it even further, blindfolding her once and warning her that what he was going to do would hurt. She said that was when she was 8.

She said he told her he needed help and they needed to go to church, because what they did was wrong. She said they did go to church, but the abuse continued for two more years, and Borden told her repeatedly not to tell anyone.

The case took so long to get to court because Borden went to Mexico for more than a year before being extradited back to Oklahoma.

We are not identifying the victim's mother, in order to protect the child's identity.

"No one could ever imagine what it's like. It's every parent's worst nightmare. I'm just glad it's over," the mother said.

A pre-sentence investigation says Borden is a low risk for repeating his crimes, but the District Attorney argued he has repeat offender written all over him, because he was grooming the victim's younger sister.

She testified Borden touched her once, and she never went back to his house.

Borden said the girls' mother made up the abuse, because she was jealous that he bought the older daughter a car and was buying the younger sister a computer.

The DA called that the most ridiculous argument she'd ever heard.

The girls' mother says she's relived Borden is going away for good.

"I was praying the judge would give him what the jury wanted and I'm very pleased he did, and now we can begin healing and put this behind us the best we can," she said.

Borden has hired new attorneys and they plan to file an appeal on his behalf.
