OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City residents rallied Thursday night at the Farmer's Market for City Councilman Ed Shadid.

The spinal surgeon and 2nd Ward City Councilman hopes to unseat Three-Term Mayor Mick Cornett in the mayoral election next March.

Shadid says while Cornett has presided over hundreds of millions of dollars in infrastructure improvements, he's left massive financial holes to fill.

"This mayor by not giving the voters all the facts, by not vetting projects properly, by not having a plan to pay for them in the future, is threatening the MAPS Program."

Shadid says while he's not against the city's taxpayer-funded $120-million streetcar project, the city hasn't factored in the millions of dollars it will cost to operate and maintain it.
