EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Edmond Police need your help investigating a recent drive-by shooting. Police say someone fired several rounds at a house in the 1000 block of Blackwelder Ave., a residential neighborhood, near the intersection of Danforth and Bryan, Sunday night.

Looking along Blackwelder Ave. you can actually see where Edmond Police marked where at least 16 shell casings were found, targeting that house across the street. It turns out a mother and her 14-year-old son were inside.

"It's crazy something would happen like this, especially around here," said Blair Galbert, who also lives in the house.

Galbert says he and his mom and brother have lived at the home for less than a year, and have never had any trouble, until now.

"I got the call from my mom, she thought she had heard fireworks," recalled Galbert. "Then my little brother came out here and said there were bullet holes all out in the garage."

Not only was the house shot up, so was the car.

"There's three in the car, one in the bumper, one in the latch of the trunk and then the other one's in the muffler," said Galbert.

It's a wonder no one was hurt, considering the sheer number of shots fired. And Galbert says the shooter may not have even been targeting them.

"My mom told me some guy came by and he was looking for my friend," said Galbert. "He like came by numerous times during the day."

But Galbert says he has no idea if that same guy is responsible for this shooting. He's just glad his mom and brother are OK.

"See, the thing is the garage was up whenever it happened," said Galbert. "And one of them could have been outside doing laundry and got hit. It's just crazy to even think stuff like that. I'm thinking they were just aiming to scare."

Galbert says one of those bullets that went through the attic actually ricocheted into his bathroom and then through a bedroom wall. Fortunately, he was not inside.

Edmond police need the public's help on this one. If you know anything about this shooting, call the Edmond Police Department. You can also text a tip to 625-TEXT or 625-8398. You can remain anonymous and there is a cash reward being offered.
