Tulsa Police Release Man Interviewed About Triple Shooting

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa police said they have interviewed and released a man they once thought to have information about Friday's triple shooting.

The 24-year-old man was released by detectives and there is not sufficient evidence to believe he has any knowledge of the robbery or murder, according to Sgt. Dave Walker.

The shooting took place inside the garage of a home in the 7100 block of South 77th East Avenue about 12:45 a.m. on Friday. Walker said at least two armed men entered the garage and opened fire on three victims. One person has died and two others were hospitalized. A school-aged child was found inside the home unharmed.

Police have identified the murder victim as Christian Patrick Dehart, 22.

"We believe this was an armed robbery attempt and what the suspects were after were drugs," Walker said. "There is no indication that the victim of the homicide was an intended target."

Police still are searching for two men, race unknown, who were masked at the time of the shootings. According to police, both of the men were armed and both pulled the trigger.

The man who was interviewed and released was believed to have been inside the garage at the time of the shooting and left in a vehicle police have since recovered.

"We still find it hard to understand his actions after the event," Walker said.
