CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -

Demolition crews have torn down a house that began falling into the Canadian River during  severe storms back in June.

Flooding caused erosion along the edge of the Canadian River. The Buford family's property sat along that edge near N.E. 36th Street and Triple X Road. Two of the family's barns fell into the water. As more land fell away, the family was forced to quickly pack up and leave their home.

The county commissioner's office declared the buildings "dilapidated" in September. Wednesday morning, demolition crews tore the house to the ground.

The Bufords say insurance has refused to cover their claims; however, they will be able to get help from FEMA.
