The City of Tulsa is suspending two department managers, while it carries out an investigation.

The city won't reveal much more, claiming the confidentiality of a personnel decision. But the employees union is saying more.

The two employees lead the equipment management division, a department that works on all kinds of city equipment.

They were walked out of the building Tuesday, and their computers searched, as part of an investigation the union says involves possible fraud and theft of city equipment.

The city employees union says the information came to light after low level employees complained about sexual discrimination and a hostile workplace.

The union claims it was their questions over several months that prompted the city to take the extraordinary action of taking out the two leaders of a department and naming an interim to run the place.

The city will only say the two are on administrative leave, with pay, while the investigation continues.

A union rep told us they believe the city is now taking the allegations seriously. They're waiting to see what happens before they say more.
