A Cherokee County family's pet elk is showing signs of improvement, but is still not out of the woods quite yet.

Owner Doug Diebold told us the 3-month old bull elk, named Tank, is now eating his food, which contains the medicine he needs to get better. But Tank is still not able to stand on his own.

Someone shot the elk late last month with a high powered rifle.

There's a $3,000 reward in the case. Call 918-683-4455, if you know anything that can help.
