OKLAHOMA CITY -

Beginning Friday, a driver's license will cost an extra $12, almost 50 percent more than it does now. Other new laws involve beer brewers, uninsured drivers, felons and human trafficking.

Oklahoma beer brewers will be able to serve up to 12 ounces of samples a day -- something wineries can already do.

Also starting tomorrow, uninsured drivers can have their car tags confiscated until they get insurance. Law enforcement and the state Insurance Department are still working on how best to handle the new law and don't actually expect it to be implemented until early next year.

Also, some convicted criminals will be able to ask for a DNA test to prove their innocence. Right now, Oklahoma is the only state that doesn't have a post-conviction DNA program.

Victims of human trafficking who have been convicted of prostitution will be able to have their records cleared.

Deadbeat parents can now be sentenced to two days of community service and patients who use medicine containing hydrocodone will not be able to get automatic refills.

Other laws taking effect on Friday deal with expanding noodling, putting more restrictions on minors having abortions, and allowing families to put cameras in a loved one's room at nursing homes as long as they let the nursing home know they're doing it.
