TULSA, Oklahoma -

A 4-year-old Tulsa boy has, according to police, been present for not just one shooting this year, but five. The boy's grandmother lost three children in the process.

The boy was inside an apartment when four women, including his mother and aunt, were murdered at Fairmont Terrace in January 2013.

Thursday night, his uncle, 33-year-old Mark Masingale, was shot to death. It happened outside the home where his grandmother, Charon Powell, was living with her boyfriend, in the 5800 block of East Tecumseh Street.

Charon Powell's twin daughters, Rebeika and Kayetie Powell, were among the four women murdered at Fairmont Terrace in January, and now she's dealing with the death of her son.

Investigators believe it started with a fight between Masingale and Powell's boyfriend.

"We determined that, at that point, that maybe this one needs a little more investigation before we go ahead and put him in jail," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker.

Powell was taken in for questioning Thursday night and released. We talked to Powell Friday and she said she doesn't know what she will do now that her son was killed.

She's struggling with the fact that she lost three children to shootings in one year and the affect that violence may have on her young grandson.

"She's dealing with the fact that her 4-year-old grandson has been a witness, or at least been in the house, on several of these occasions and that can't be good," Sgt. Walker said.

Homicide detectives say they're going to hand the case over to the district attorney's office to let them decide if charges should be filed.
