Turley Soldier To Be Inducted Into Oklahoma Military Hall Of Fame

One of Oklahoma's Own will be inducted posthumously into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame. Lieutenant Colonel Dudley Britton passed away in 1992, but his service to our country will live on.

The Turley soldier served in both World War II and the Korean War. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received a number of medals, including the Bronze Star, Silver Star, and the Purple Heart.

"When it's your Dad, you think - 'yeah, yeah Dad, whatever,' but then when it starts to come back from third and fourth parties, you realize that he really was just an amazing patriot and a bonafide war hero," said his daughter, Diane Britton Jessup.

Lieutenant Colonel Britton was also a golden glove boxer. The induction ceremony is Saturday in Oklahoma City.
