Freezing Precipitation Possible Friday Morning In Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Freezing rain and drizzle are possible across portions of northeast Oklahoma early Friday after a cold front moves into the state Thursday.

There are no school closings at this time.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory several counties in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma from 6 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Saturday.

News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says the high temperature will be near 60 Thursday before dropping as the cold air arrives. He expects some thunderstorms as the front enters the state Thursday afternoon.

Crone says light precipitation along with the cold air could create some driving issues Friday morning.

The National Weather Service says ice accumulation of one-tenth of an inch is possible in some areas.

Tulsa Police' web site has a copy of their collision report form for drivers involved in an accident.

Crone says the cold air will remain for the weekend with Saturday afternoon highs only in the upper 30s. Sunday morning will start in the lower 20s and finish around 39 with a chance of light precipitation.
