A Morrison woman is warning other Oklahomans about a "Mystery Shopper" scam she says she almost fell for.
Sherranda Gile says she placed an ad on Craigslist recently, looking for a part-time job. She says a few days later she got an email from someone who claimed they worked for "Mystery Shopper."
Mystery Shoppers are people retailers hire to go into their stores to buy goods and services, and then to report back to the retailer.
Gile says the scam artist who hired her mailed her a fake $2,500 check.
"I'm just stuck with a piece of paper that means absolutely nothing," she said.
Gile says her husband first alerted her it was probably a scam. And she is glad she didn't actually send the scam artist any money.
