OKLAHOMA CITY -

The former coach that sparked an internet firestorm with his racially charged rant on Facebook after a state playoff game is speaking with News 9.

Stanford White said Douglass High was unfairly targeted by the refs on Nov. 30 against Poteau High in the state semi-finals. Poteau High won the game 27-20.

"I said racism. I still think that played a part," says White, who claimed online that the game was played in the "redneck part of a red state."

"If you go into a game as an official and you really think these kids on this one side are undisciplined and not well coached and will commit penalties, you go into the game looking for those things…and if you look, you'll see them," says White, who think the refs missed several clear penalties on Poteau High.

Douglass had three touchdowns and a turnover called back by penalties. White is also upset that a wife of a Douglass coach was escorted out of the stands by McAlester Police because she was blocking Poteau High fans from watching the game.

White says Douglass was the home team in their matchup, but were told to use the visitors' locker room in McAlester.

"Tiny. Kids sat on the floor," says White, about the accommodations.

White says it wants the OSSAA to learn from what he calls a mistake.
