GARVIN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Officers from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) and Garvin County Sheriff's Office arrested nearly a dozen suspects following an 18-month long investigation into a methamphetamine ring.

Around 6 a.m. Wednesday, OBN agents and Garvin County deputies began the crackdown on a meth distribution organization in Lindsay, Oklahoma. OBN spokesperson Mark Woodward says the Mexican-sourced group distributed as much as two pounds of crystal meth each week.

"This group of defendants would import significant quantities of crystal methamphetamines, or ICE, into the Lindsay area to supply local dealers and users," said Woodward. "Many of these defendants have lengthy and violent criminal histories."

By noon, agents had taken 11 of the 23 suspects they were looking for into custody. All defendants were taken to the Garvin County Jail and booked on multiple complaints, including conspiracy to distribute meth.

Agents expect to make additional arrests.
