Oklahoma Films To Premiere At Sundance

Posted: Updated:

Two Oklahoma-based films have been accepted into the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

The Oklahoma Film & Music Office says narrative feature "Rudderless" and documentary "This May Be the Last Time" will make their world premieres.

Oklahoma natives Jeff Robison and Casey Twenter wrote "Rudderless," while William H. Macy directs. The film tells the story of a grieving father who comes across a box of his deceased son's original music, spurring him to form a rock-n-roll band. It was shot in Oklahoma earlier this year.

"This May Be the Last Time" is a documentary about the importance of the ceremonial music of the Creek Nation and the fight for its survival. The film is from Oklahoma-based filmmakers Sterlin Harjo and Matt Leach.

The festival is scheduled for Jan. 16-26.
