A suspected shoplifter pulled out a knife at an Oklahoma City Walmart when security officers tried to stop him from leaving with a $1,000 television, police say.
On December 10, loss-prevention officers at the store at Interstate 240 and Santa Fe say they spotted 26-year-old Timothy Le walking with a 60-inch TV in his cart. The officers say Le walked right by the cash registers without paying and headed toward the doors.
Officers stopped Le and tried to move him toward an office. They say Le refused to move and began struggling with the officers. At one point, Le reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife with a folding blade.
An officer managed to grab the knife before Le could extend the blade. The store called police. They arrested Le and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of grand larceny and grand larceny from a retailer.
