OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City's downtown skyline is being transformed, thanks to plans for a new development.

If all goes as planned, the Stage Center building at Sheridan and Hudson will be leveled to make way for a new office building and possibly a hotel.

Stage Center opened in 1970 and most recently served as a museum.

The building at Sheridan and Hudson has been empty since 2010 after it suffered heavy damage from flooding.

OG&E announced Tuesday it will move its headquarters to the planned 14 to 16 story building.

A second shorter tower in the development could serve as residential housing or a hotel.

"Our building has served us for 85 years, but the time has time," said OG&E spokesman Brian Alford about the company's current location on Harvey downtown.

Developers also plan to pay tribute to "Stage Center" with the new building.

Oklahoma City Planners still have to sign off on the $100 million project.
