Traffic is moving again on westbound Interstate 40 after a hazmat spill Tuesday afternoon.

Around 1 p.m., a semi lost its tractor trailer on I-40 near I-44. A chemical identified as methanol propargy alcohol briefly spilled from the trailer, but the leak quickly stopped.

Some of the westbound lanes of the highway were shut down as crews cleaned up the chemical.

No one was hurt. The highway reopened around 2 p.m.

It's not known what caused the semi to lose its trailer.
