TULSA, Oklahoma -

Jurors came to a unanimous decision on the man accused of shooting in the plaza of the Tulsa County Courthouse.

Andrew Joseph Dennehy was found guilty of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm, reckless conduct with fire arm, attempted escape and assault and battery on an officer.

The jury did find Dennehy not guilty on the first count, assault with a dangerous weapon.

The jury recommended 23 years and ten days in prison.

Dennehy's attorneys have filed for a pre-sentencing investigation. His sentence date is scheduled for March 3 at 9 a.m.

Prosecutor Tony Evans told jurors before they went to deliberation, "You don't get a pass for shooting police officers in Downtown Tulsa."

Dennehy's attorney told the jury Dennehy believed he was sacrificing himself to save his family from a religious slaughter, claiming he couldn't commit suicide because he wanted to go to heaven.

Prosecutors believe he's sane and deserves to go to prison for opening fire on the courthouse plaza and hitting a deputy.

They argued Dennehy knew right from wrong that day and could appreciate the consequences of what he did, which is the legal definition of sanity in Oklahoma.

However, Dennehy's attorney said he was out of his mind; that he didn't go there to kill anyone, but to die.
