A Chelsea man was arrested after deputies say he stole two vehicles Sunday. Darrell Ray Omar Jr. was booked on a complaint of larceny of a motor vehicle.

Rogers County sheriff's deputies were called in to an address in the 4000 block of South 4300 Road at about 7 p.m. Sunday when a man said his vehicle was stolen and he knew who did it.

Jeffrey Davis said he left Omar inside the vehicle while he went inside the residence, and when he came outside the vehicle was gone. Several people chased down the stolen vehicle and got it back from Omar.

One of the men who helped recover the car told police he "busted the driver's side window to get Darrell out of the car," the arrest report states.

According to the report, the two men fought then the friend returned the stolen car to the owner. As the Rogers County deputy took the stolen car report, a Mayes County deputy called in for help on a report of a stolen white truck. It was stolen in the same area where the other car was recovered, the arrest report states.

Authorities went to a house in Chelsea where Omar was known to stay, the arresting officer said in his report. They saw the white pickup stop at the home and saw two men run from the vehicle before it took off.

Omar was found hiding behind a couch in the living room, according to the Rogers County deputy, who said Omar had scratches on his face consistent with a struggle.

Chelsea Police officers were involved in a pursuit with the pickup, the deputy states. Radio logs show the pickup crashed and burned in the 22000 block of East 330 Road and that a Chelsea police department vehicle also caught fire.

Deputies say Davis, the first victim, identified Omar as the man who took his car.
