Frigid Air, North Winds Bring Sub-Zero Wind Chills To Eastern Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Bitterly cold wind chill temperatures are the latest worry for Oklahomans.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Child Advisory until noon Thursday for eastern Oklahoma. Counties in the advisory include Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Mayes, Muskogee, Nowata, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington.

Very cold temperatures and gusty north winds are producing wind chills of -5 to -15 degrees.

News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone expects the same thing for Thursday morning. Wednesday's and Thursday's high temperature will be around 16 degrees with lows overnight falling into the single digits.

Crone says we may see some snow flurries Thursday and Friday before temps climb into the upper 20s by Friday and into the 30s by the weekend.
