TULSA, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says it's moving offenders back to the Avalon Center in Tulsa, three months after moving them out for what it called safety and security reasons.

The Department of Corrections will begin moving some offenders back into the halfway house today, according to spokesman Jerry Massie.

Massie says DOC will be moving in about 25 people per week until the center reaches 150 people.

Massie says Avalon has agreed to some physical changes to the structure as well as adding cameras throughout the facility.

DOC will also assign an on-site representative who will monitor the day-to-day operations. There's no timeframe for how long that person will be there, Massie says.

In a letter to the Avalon Center President Brian Costello in January, the Department of Corrections said it moved offenders out of the facility because it was the target of three active investigations.

The company that owns the enter responded by releasing a letter in which it claimed the DOC's action was a "politically motivated retaliation our Tulsa facility."
