STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Tiffany Bias became the third player in Oklahoma State history taken in the WNBA Draft, going to the Phoenix Mercury with the fifth pick (17th overall) of the second round on Monday evening.

"I am excited to join the Phoenix Mercury. It is a dream come true to hear your name called and have the opportunity to continue my playing career," Bias said. "I appreciate the support I have received from everybody and the last four years at Oklahoma State have helped prepare me for the next chapter in my life."

Bias joins Andrea Riley and Toni Young as former Cowgirls taken in the draft. Riley was selected in the first round of the 2010 draft by Los Angeles with the No. 8 pick, while Young went to New York with the No. 7 pick in the first round of last year's draft.

A native of Andover, Kan., Bias concluded her stellar collegiate career by earning honorable mention All-America status from both the Associated Press and theWomen's Basketball Coaches Association this past season.

After leading OSU to the third NCAA Sweet 16 berth in school history, she was named to the Notre Dame Regional all-tournament team and was a unanimous All-Big 12 pick as well. She became the school's first-ever Big 12 All-Defensive Team selection, was an all-region performer and appeared on the finalist list for the Nancy Lieberman Award as well as watch lists for the Naismith Trophy and the Wade Trophy.

As a junior, she received honorable mention All-America status from the Associated Press and was tabbed as a second-team All-Big 12 selection while leading OSU to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

In 2011-12, Bias led OSU to its first-ever WNIT title, earning second-team all-league honors in the process.

Over her four seasons in Stillwater, she amassed a school-record 791 assists, which stands as the third-best total in Big 12 history. Bias also set school standards for games played (133), games started (132) and minutes played (4,670).

The 5-6 point guard's 295 career steals rank second in OSU history and ninth on the Big 12 charts. Her 1,623 points rank eighth all time in Cowgirl history as well.
