Imagine raw sewage seeping into your yard. Some neighbors in southwest Oklahoma City say it's been a problem for weeks at their home. They've complained, but say nothing is being done.

The family says after their next-door neighbor had sewage backed-up in her home for months, she up and left in January. Now the sewage is seeping in their yard, and they're fed up.

It's the sour smell of sewage that greets Rose Tittle and her family each day at Westmoor Mobile Home park near SW 74th and Council Rd.

"You come up here to the park and as soon as you pull right up here, you smell it," said Rose. "You come outside and you want to get fresh air and you can't even because all you smell is raw sewage. It's coming up in your yard. You can't mow your lawn, you can't do anything, because you have raw sewage just coming up."

The sewage is backing into Rose's mother's yard. Rose can also smell the sewage from her mobile home in the same park. She says her family can barely walk in the back yard for fear of stepping in a big pile of you-know-what.

"All this is raw sewage. It's going underneath their trailer and it's bad," she said.

Her family says they've been complaining to management for weeks.

"The lady that lived next door, she moved out because of this problem, because it was coming up into her house and the office told her there was nothing they could do about it," Rose said.

Their neighbor has an eviction notice on the door from the county sheriff's office. Rose says the woman was two payments away from owning her mobile home, but couldn't stand the sewage backup. A manager for Westmoor Mobile Home Community said they're just waiting on their plumber to come fix the issue.

"There's a break in the line right there and we can't do anything until the line locator gets here," said Jennefer Crisel.

She sent out a letter to residents earlier this month stating:  "There are 3 leaks underground that must be fixed…these issues that we are fixing have been here at Westmoor a very long time."

But it's not much consolation to Rose, who's expecting her first child soon.

"It makes me really mad because I'm due here shortly and I do not want my daughter growing up around this," Rose said. "It's ridiculous and it stinks."

She says the smell is at its worst at night when more people are in their homes using their bathrooms. The family says they've filed a complaint with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.

Management recently hired a plumbing company to fix the issue and says someone will be out to fix the leak Monday.
