LEXINGTON, Oklahoma -

A 5-year-old special needs girl from Lexington has joined the local T-ball league. Her name is Kaytlin Mosier, and she was born with an underdeveloped brain.

Her mother Tiffany Bostwick says doctors told her when Kaytlin was just months old she would never be able to "sit up, crawl, walk or talk, or anything." But little Kaytlin has made progress with therapy over the last few years.

Five weeks ago, John Avery found out about Kaytlin. Avery coaches the Lexington Lil' Lady Bulldogs. It's a 6-years and under T-ball team. Avery has experience working with special needs kids.

He offered to let Kaytlin join the team, and Tiffany Bostwick accepted.

"It warms my heart," she said.

Friday night, Kaytlin was with her teammates at their game in Noble. While she can only get around using a walker, Coach Avery helped her swing the bat and hit the ball off the tee.

Her teammates then helped her round the bases, while the other team and parents from both teams applauded.

"Just because you're not like the others, doesn't mean that they can't be treated the same," Kaytlin's mother told us with tears in her eyes, before the game.
