TULSA, Oklahoma -

Volunteers have poured their hearts - and a significant amount of muscle - into turning an area of downtown Tulsa into a street fair Sunday. They want Tulsans to see what the city could be with additional improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians.

The event connects south downtown Tulsa with River Parks. It's an effort by Tulsa's Young Professionals called Tulsa Street CReD 2014. That adds up to 18 blocks of creative fun for the family.

Ride to Sunday's event by "bike trains" or park at the TCC Metro Campus and rent bicycles for free from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Activities like yoga, music, and food trucks will be strung along the event's route from 5th and Boston to 15th and Boulder.

There's even a cabana at 6th and Boston.

City Councilor Blake Ewing addressed the crowd along with some of the TYPro organizers. Ewing applauded the organizers for "inspiring our community to think out loud."

"The TYPros Street CReD event is an incredible opportunity for us to show an example of potential bicycle improvements for Tulsa," said James Wagner, project manager for the GO Plan, the Tulsa Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.

WARN Team Meteorologist Mike Grogan reminds attendees to wear sunscreen and "drink that water."

"Highs around 90 but sunny with a breeze in downtown," he said.
