Three people were hurt in a collision involving two motorcycles in Pittsburg County late Thursday night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports two Harley Davidson motorcycles were eastbound on State Highway 9 in Longtown at about 11 p.m. when the lead motorcycle stalled out. The second bike struck the stalled bike's left side.

Both people on the second motorcycle were ejected, a collision report states.

Troopers say the driver of the motorcycle that stalled, 36-year-old Jeremey Cremeens of McAlester, was taken to a Tulsa hospital with head injuries. He is said to be stable.

A woman riding on the back of his bike was uninjured.

Clinton G. Stapp of Indianola was driving the second motorcycle. Stapp, 40, was listed in critical condition with head and other injuries. His passenger, 35-year-old Toni Martin of McAlester, is reportedly in good condition with head, arm and leg injuries.

The cause of the collision was a mechanical defect, according to the OHP. None of the riders was wearing a helmet.
