More summer heat is on the way, Oklahoma. I guess it was only a matter of time.
High temperatures today will be a mix of 80s and 90s, but the heat index will make it feel like the 90s statewide. Expect wind speeds out of the south at about 20 mph.
Highs tomorrow will be hotter still. More mid to upper 90s with a few 100s possible in the panhandle.
A weak front will move into the state Wednesday and bring a slight chance of rain, but that chance seems to be getting more and more slim. Most of the rain will likely fall in eastern Oklahoma.
Looking ahead, I'd be surprised if we didn't reach 100° in the Oklahoma City metro before the end of the month. Next weekend is already showcasing an opportunity for it.
