BRYAN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A Texas teenager is in critical condition after a boating accident on Lake Texoma, Sunday evening.

According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), a 16-year-old girl and a 59-year-old woman were riding jet skis when the crash occurred.

Troopers say the woman and teen were driving the jet skis at each other and turning at the last moment to splash each other with the vessels’ wakes. On one pass the woman did not make her turn in time and crashed into the right side of the teen’s jet ski.

Both the woman and the teen were ejected into the water. Other boaters in the group were able to pull the two from the water and get them back to shore.

The woman refused treatment at the scene. The teen was life-flighted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Troopers say both women were wearing life jackets. They did not say whether or not charges could be filed. Neither woman has been identified at this time.
