Man Arrested In OKC For Attacking Postal Worker

Oklahoma City police arrested a man who is accused of attacking a postal worker Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers responded to the incident at a home located in the 12000 block of Victoria Pl. in Oklahoma City.

A female postal worker told police that she was walking up to the home to deliver mail when a man sitting on the porch stood up and attacked her.

The victim said the man, later identified as 54-year-old Bennie Joe Edwards Jr., may have stabbed her with a knife. Police said the victim had several puncture wounds behind her left shoulder.

Edwards was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
