The El Paso Chihuahuas broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning and went on to a 2-1 win against the Oklahoma City RedHawks Wednesday to win their first-ever game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

PCL newcomer El Paso (63-69) handed the RedHawks (68-65) a second straight loss for just the second time this month in front of a crowd of 3,479.

Wednesday opened Oklahoma City's final homestand of the regular season and began a four-game set with El Paso. The RedHawks entered the game trailing American Southern Division leader Omaha by two games in the standings.

The RedHawks scored first, as they returned home from an eight-game road trip.

Joe Sclafani led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a double and Ronny Torreyes followed with a single. Then with one out, Matt Duffy connected on a sacrifice fly to right field. Sclafani scored, avoiding a tag at the plate by Chihuahuas catcher Rocky Gale for a 1-0 RedHawks lead.

El Paso's Brian Bixler brought home Taylor Lindsey with a RBI groundout in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game, 1-1.

The RedHawks had a chance to take the lead in the bottom of the frame. Jonathan Villar drew a one-out walk to load the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning. Sclafani then grounded into a double play to end the inning.

El Paso broke the tie in the eighth inning.

With runners at first and third and one out, Jeff Francoeur reached on a fielding error by RedHawks second baseman Sclafani and was credited with the go-ahead RBI.

Sclafani finished the night a game-best 3-for-4 to extend his on-base streak to 35 games – second longest in the league this season.

El Paso starting pitcher Matt Wisler (8-5) earned the win, holding the RedHawks to one run and five hits over seven innings. He walked two and struck out seven. Michael Nix earned his first save of the season with the Chihuahuas, holding Oklahoma City scoreless over the final two innings.

RedHawks starting pitcher Asher Wojciechowski allowed one run and five hits over 6.0 innings. He issued two walks and struck out four in a no decision.

Pitcher Paul Clemens (6-3) was charged with the loss.

The RedHawks continue their four-game series against the El Paso Chihuahuas with a 7:05 p.m. game Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
