TULSA, Oklahoma -

A 19-year-old woman died of injuries she received in a crash on the Muskogee Turnpike Friday morning. Nancy Vea passed away Saturday morning in Tulsa.

Vea is a Mormon missionary, according to the Associated Press.

Troopers say Vea was a passenger in a Dodge van that was southbound on the turnpike near Broken Arrow when the driver tried to make a U-turn. A semi truck driver following the van hit his brakes but was unable to avoid the Dodge after being struck from behind by a third vehicle.

Several people received minor injuries, but Vea was ejected and transported in critical condition. Investigators say she was not wearing a seat belt.
