NORMAN, Oklahoma -

The first student for the class of 2019 has already been welcomed by OU, and they rolled out the red carpet.

Edmond High School senior, Lexie Dare, dreamed of going to OU, and she was the first student accepted this year, but her letter didn't arrive in the mail.

Instead, a recruitment director arranged an interview with Lexie, and a big surprise, recorded and posted online.

Lexie was told she was just being interviewed, but outside, buses full of cheerleaders and students were setting up for the surprise; they even brought the band and the schooner.

That's when Lexie learned, she got accepted

The university said it really wanted to recreate game-day experience in a driveway.
