Nightmare Named Big 12 Defensive Player Of The Week

Sophomore defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. Ogbah led the Cowboy defense with two sacks and two pass breakups against No. 1 Florida State.<br/>

Oklahoma State defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah earned a nickname during his breakout performance in the Cowboy Classic versus Florida State. The “Nigerian Nightmare” was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after totaling six tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and two pass breakups against an experienced O-Line and reigning Heisman Trophy-winner Jameis Winston.

The Lagos, Nigeria native finished tied for the team lead with four sacks as a redshirt freshman last season. He also recorded 20 tackles, four quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. Ogbah earned honorable mention Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year recognition in 2013.

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin and West Virginia kick returner Mario Alford were named Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
