Police: Tulsa Man Caught Molesting 7-Year-Old Girl

A Tulsa man is in jail after his common law wife said she caught him molesting a 7-year-old girl. Jared Clark is being held on a $50,000 bond for the sexual abuse of a minor.

Police say he claimed he was consoling the girl after she had a bad dream.

The arrest took place in a residence in the 2400 block of South 138th East Avenue. Police say Clark's wife came home at about 10 p.m. and found Clark next to the girl who was lying on a pallet in the living room. The mother said Clark was touching the child inappropriately and telling her to "just relax."

The girl told police it had happened before and she'd reported it to Clark's wife, who tried to "prevent solitary contact between the victim and the defendant," the arrest report states.

On Tuesday night, the woman hit Clark in the head and called police, according to the arresting officer.

Court records show the 38-year-old Clark also had an outstanding warrant in Delaware County.
